Brasfilter modified the water purification concept in the Brazilian market by means of the extremely modern Europa Purifiers. It became with time the largest Latin American manufacturer of home Water Purifiers. Through an international technologic contract with a Canadian company, it developed the best water treatment for home apparatus. This technology is used in the WS Compact Line, Summer Line UVLS models and CTA UVLS (out of production but still being used in the market). In these, water undergoes three successive stages: filtration, purification and disinfection.
1ª CHAMBER – FILTRATION
Prefiltration: Layers of Dolomite II and I: Water passes through millimetric holes of a disc and two layers of dolomite, which, in addition to helping retain the solid impurities, releases calcium and magnesium (combined or separated).
Filtration: Layers of Quartz II and I: The filtration is carried out through quartz crystals that retain lime, sludge and other impurities suspended in the water.
Prepurification: Layer of activated carbon III impregnated with colloidal silver: In this phase, which contains granulometry III activated carbon, begins the chlorine adsorption and reduction of chemical and organic substances.
2ª CHAMBER – PURIFICATION
Layers of activated carbon II and I impregnated with colloidal silver: : Granulometry III activated carbon becomes even more active in adsorbing chlorine, unpleasant smells and tastes. It increases the efficiency in reducing chemicals, organic substances and cloudiness.
Extra-Fine Activated Carbon Impregnated with Colloidal silver: With extra-fine activated carbon the dechlorification process is concluded. In this phase, as in 3 and 4 above, the activated carbon inhibits the reproduction of microorganisms.
Microtexturized Disc: O disco microtexturizado age como um retentor de eventuais resíduos.
3ª CHAMBER – DISINFECTION
Cloudiness and Ultraviolet Light: Water arrives at the third chamber where it undergoes, from bottom to top, a spiral trajectory generating cloudiness, which allows uniform exposure of the bacteria to the ultraviolet light of a top of the line cylindrical lamp - UV Light System. The exposure breaks up the molecular structure of these microorganisms and is responsible for eliminating total coliforms, such as Enterobacter sp, Klebsiella sp; fecal coliforms, such as Escherichia coli, and pathogenic bacteria, such as Vibrio cholerae, which might be present in water.
Backwash: Internal cleaning system of filtering elements by reversing the water flow. Backwash must be carried out every 7 days.
